One of the ”fruits of the hunt or the catch”‘ is offering up a mouthwatering meal. Over the years, I have come up with several that I like, but I am always  looking for more. Gary Howey, a friend of mine from Nebraska, who has carved out a career in the outdoor world with his Team Outdoorsmen Productions, has compiled a list of his favorite wild game/fish recipes in Outdoorsmen Adventures ”Cooking Gone Wild” cookbook.

According to Howey, the cookbook is just in time for the holidays. 

“Recipes we gathered by our Team Outdoorsmen Adventures members as we traveled from Mexi­co, throughout the U. S. and Canada filming our televi­sion series,” Howey said. ”On these trips we were introduced to some excel­lent meals, many of which are found in the cookbook. Others came from our view­ers, radio program listeners and our readers.”

This 196-page hardcover book is loaded with mouth­watering wild game reci­pes including walleye, bass, panfish, pike, squirrel; rabbit, deer, elk, wild boar, bear, pheasant, grouse, quail, dove, ducks, geese, turkey, wild edible recipes, Dutch oven cooking and much more. The recipes offer a variety of  presentations from bar­becuing, grilling, baking, fry­ing or braising.

Howey added, “We’ve also got hunting and fishing tips by our team members and National Fresh Water Hall of Fame member Larry Myhre, along with special artwork by Mark Anderson, the 2005-06 federal duck stamp winner.”
